Here's a quote for you to think about, and I think it pertains to all of the places that I visited. It can even pertain to all places throughout the world, taken from different contexts.
"Some great cities remind me of old and enduring country houses: The steps are grooved by the passage of generations, and rooms are laden each with its special set of memories. Generations come and go, changes and additions are made; the house, or city, endures. In it we are ever mindful of the past, ever mindful that each generation, including our own, yields to another." - John J. Putman in National Geographic Vol. 153 No. 1, January 1978
On a tour through Paris, our guide once said something along those lines. Rediscovering the quote from a National Geographic that I picked up by chance from a stack of about a hundred others bought randomly by my roommate Jake has inspired my recollections of all the places of the world that I have traveled, lived, or will travel to. I hope this quote will mean as much to you as it has come to mean to me.
